May Fun Fly: BMFA Event Details
« on: 17/04/2015, 01:40:14 PM »
Reg, Committee Members, et al.

I've just been looking through the event calendar on the BMFA website.

In May, the Greenacres May Fun Fly event is listed. Screenshot at bottom of post.

Er, "RC Helicopters", does that include quadcopters / hexcopters etc....

Confused...

Hi Jim

Well I think a well done to committee has to be said for actually getting something on the BMFA website.

You're right though because if we're going to actively advertise for helis, we need to be prepared to have special heli slots.
This will slow down the number of planes that we get through, and leave some regulars chomping at the bit.

We should also be making it very clear the "Proof of BMFA insurance is required to fly" or we'll have fliers come without their BMFA card.
(It's been an issue in the past)

I think it reads as if everything is free too.
Oh, and it doesn't mention the A test requirement.

Any thoughts Reg?

Chris and Committee...

Yes, it's great that we're up on the BMFA Events page!

The actual point I was making is that I thought that there was a rule imposed by Walsall Council on the flying field that states that we can't flying rotor aircraft. Or is it a club rule only?

Just wanted to clarify...

Good points Chris it's not very clear about a couple of things.
Hi Jim there is not the usual restrictions imposed on us for fun fly events , most are lifted for theese only, the only rule that still stands as far as i am aware is the noise restrictions so i.c. flying mat stop around 6/7 in the evening
