Hi Jim

Some very nice photos showing just how busy the event was.

I've just put the majority of those from your CD on the website gallery. Thanks for those.

Hi Jim

Just thought I'd pop this here so you can refer to it.

I knew I'd seen these for sale somewhere. Once upon a time these were called a GWS Formosa.
Lot's of folk had them as a small convenient one piece model, for flying whenever there was a moment.
It's solid foam and a little bit smaller than the Alliance, but quite similar. Probably bounces a lot better too.
Again great for practicing "twiddly bits". It would take all the Alliance gear, or maybe even Radjet gear, if either ever became available...

Hi Jim

I may just have a really old knacker that might suit you for this sort of thing.
Let me know if you'll be at the field tomorrow (Sunday)

I'm sure I'll be at the May fly in, but I'm not sure about the caravan or just when, everythings a bit up in the air at the mo.

If I can get to fly on Sunday it will be towards the end of the IC session, or possibly late afternoon.
I'll bring the P2000 if I come.

The best weather I can see in the coming week looks to be during clubnight - DOH!

Sounds like you're really moving on Jim  :)

I won't be out Sat as we have house viewings booked.

Sunday - there's a very slight chance, which probably means the weather will be poor.

You fancy a P2000? Well, some of my models have to go.. mine would come with a full Taranis setup and a spare fus and tail - and a trial flight first.
You just have to persuade me to sell it (shouldn't be too hard).
There is a growing list of other possibilities too...
Fancy a 1400mm foam Hellcat? or a little funfighter Miss America Mustang?

Well done Jim.

You might find it a bit easier to land with a tiny bit of power on.
But of course that also might make it float straight past..

2015 / Re: May Fun Fly: BMFA Event Details

Hi Jim

Well I think a well done to committee has to be said for actually getting something on the BMFA website.

You're right though because if we're going to actively advertise for helis, we need to be prepared to have special heli slots.
This will slow down the number of planes that we get through, and leave some regulars chomping at the bit.

We should also be making it very clear the "Proof of BMFA insurance is required to fly" or we'll have fliers come without their BMFA card.
(It's been an issue in the past)

I think it reads as if everything is free too.
Oh, and it doesn't mention the A test requirement.

Any thoughts Reg?

Hi Jim, that sounds a very worthwhile mod. Even if it probably is beyond the vast majority of modellers.

How long is that battery (or a micro one) likely to last?

I agree about the 1 second update rate, a lot can change in a second, particularly out direction.
A faster one would be far better.

I have the S.Port version which does seem a little better, I wonder what that has in it?

I can soon do that Jim.

Bear in mind that when a clubnight falls just after a fly in, that it's usually very very quiet.
I think you should definitely do it, but don't be too disappointed if numbers are lower than usual.

It is indeed an excellent idea Jim.

I'd mention it to Reg or John whenever you bump in to one of them though, I've no idea how often they look in here.
If it does get arranged, then let me know and I'll pop it on the website.
