I have notifications set up for every topic so don't tend to spend my time looking in over and over again just to find no posts. I'm afraid my time is far too valuable for that.
My attention was brought to the issues by another member who emailed me when he had difficulties, i.e. he was getting just the blank page.
Even though this was on a Saturday, after I'd been up through the night on an airport trip, I spent a while looking at it and then put in a problem case with out hosts.
Within an hour they had come back to me saying that something had corrupted the files in the forum and that they had restored a backup.
Everything is now working again fine.
They didn't say what may have caused this, whether it be someone malicious from the other side of the world, or just a fault at their end. But the result is good. I can't think of any posts that are missing so the backup must have been pretty recent.
If you want to help, just let me know next time you see an issue.
It's very very rare that there are any issues like this with the hosts we use and TBH the forum is used so little that it's really no big deal.
