All,
The forum has had its busiest ever month based on views: 36032 views!
Let's hope that trend continues....
Looking forward to next weekend...

I think they're all you Jim :D
Yep, fingers crossed for the weather next week!
-
Chris,
Forum Posts yes, but not views...
BBC Long term forecast looks like sunshine with shower and 10mph wind for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, however it will certainly change as we get closer...
Off to Norfolk now...

Forum traffic still increasing!
Looking like at least a three-fold increase in views over 2013 figures...
All good stuff!
Should we not be using the forum for things like club night activities (like, announcements such as Bring and Buy tonight) and other club activities?
Could we not place "calls to action" before Fun Flys etc?
Just a thought...
-
Whoa! Traffic has gone crazy....!
December 2014: 244000 page views
January 2015: 222000 page views
December 2014 alone was 100000 more page views than the whole of 2013 total!
Chris or Danny, questions:
1) Are these figures real or some sort of crawler effect?
2) Is the general idea to get more forum views? Is that the GMAC policy?
3) Is there anyway of drilling down and see what pages the public are actually interested in?
I need to post more stuff... Only got an Extra 300 36" ready the photograph and a silly Micro FPV quad...

I very much suspect that it's a combination of
- Some GMAC member views
- some UK modeler views - looking to find out something about the club for fly in's or for joining
- and probably mostly web crawlers and spambots trying to find somewhere to leave spam
Policy? GMAC? Behave! No seriously the Forum is there for members to use how they see fit. I thought folk would use it to meet up on Sunday mornings, and swap building tips etc.
I'll have a look to see what facilities we have for checking stats, and report back here.
-
I can't see any stats for just the forum, but here are a few about the whole site.
These refer to Jan 2015.

Chris,
I'd say that something or someone is crawling the Forum judging by the level of traffic to /Forum/index.php
Probably not a bad things as long as we don't get lots of spam user creation...
The "bot" crawler section reveals that not all the forum traffic is pure crawlers.
I'm doing heavy SEO work on one of our public websites for work at the moment, and I'd be really happy with these kinds of figures!

That's what I see too Jim.
We did have a run on spammers, but I made a slight change which I'll not detail here and we've been clear since - for the time being anyway.
